Cotes Roties コート・ロティ

Quick trip to Ampuis to have a look at vineyards and meet winemakers. With the so-called Hermitage mountain, the Cotes Roties are may be the best places in the world for Syrah and this is just 80km from my place. Slopes are quite impressive. This is a lovely place for vines known by romans who built walls to protect the soil from erosion.

I just started tasting the 2008 & 2009 vintages. I cannot help comparing with Burgundy! Yet wines are slightly different: terroirs and grapes are different. For sure syrah gives here powerful wines! A couple of pics to let you dream about this rather unique place. It's great here.

ブドウ畑を見て、生産者と会うために、アンピュイまでちょっと行ってきました。いわゆるエルミタージュ山とともにコート・ロティはおそらくシラーにとって世界一の場所かしれません（お気に障った方がいらっしゃったらすみません）。こ こは我が家からたったの80kmしか離れていません。斜面の景観はかなり衝撃的です。ブドウの木にとって素晴らしい場所であることはローマ人は既に知って いて、彼らが土壌が浸食されることを防ぐために石垣を作ったのです。

2008年と2009年のビンテージから試飲を始めました。ブルゴーニュのワインと比較すると、ワインは若干異なります。土壌とブドウが違います。たしか に、シラーは力強いワインです。皆さんがこの独特の地を夢見るような写真をいくつかご紹介します。本当に素晴らしいところです。
