Meursault PC Bouchères Buisson-C 10 & Chassagne PC Morgeot 06 H.Germain & F.

Two white burgundy Premier Cru wines from two serious winemakers, tasted both at our last wine seminar in Fukuoka. Meursault 1er Cru Bouchères 10 by Domaine Buisson-Charles and Chassagne 1er Cru Morgeot 06 by Domaine Henri Germain & Fils. One could compare them and taste the differences between the two. The parcel Morgeot Fairendes in Chassage gives rather opulent wines, whereas the Bouchères parcel in Meursault, which is on calcareous rock, gives straight and extremely mineral wines. The magics of the soil! Note: both wines are excellent.

Shunparo- Sankirou seminar - Vins/Wines!!!

To suit fugu dishes, we chose an elegant Meursault wine and mature and silky tannins from Pomerol and côteau des Grand Crus in Gevrey-Chambertin. That should not be bad for your palate really...

Meursault 11 Domaine Henri Germain.
We tasted it recently and it is -- according to me -- just superb. For those who tasted vintage 09, it is similar but with slightly more tension. There is a slight reduction just after opening, which I love. Then Meursault aromas... elegant and rather deep, great length with perfect balance of acidity, fat and "minerality". I claim that JF Germain produces extraordinary fine wines. If one is sensitive to this style of wines then one cannot forget it.

Château Belle-Brise à Pomerol, 03.
We do not sell many Bordeaux wines, actually this is the only one. This is perfectly made Pomerol old (or "classical") style for a very fine terroir. Vintage 03 was very hot but the wine was finely made. We hesitated to serve vintage 02 bur finally decided 03! Silky tannins with complex and elaborate aromas. This has become unfortunately quite unique in the Bordeaux area where wines are usually designed to be just "big" with hidden or lost minerality. What Pomerol should taste like -- according to me, of course.

Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Perrières 06, Domaine Pierre Naigeon
An elegant and complex Gevrey-Chambertin wine from a premier cru parcel (located in the côteau des grand crus just below Mazys). Vintage 06 was warm and tannins are perfectly ripe. As usual with Pierre Naigeon, extractions are wise, the style is "classical" i.e. with no incongruous tricks.
